Description
The Jumbie Jam steel pan is manufactured by Panyard in the USA. The Jumbie Jam begins as a single sheet of premium steel which is machine pressed. This process applies the overall shape of the notes on the pan surface, which is then fine-tuned by hand hammering before the electrostatic powder coat paint finish is applied.
The Jumbie Jam is a joyful instrument and is at home in a range of environments – from recreational music making at home to educational settings in the classroom and ensemble playing. It even made an appearance in the 2020 film Bill & Ted Face the Music starring alongside Keanu Reeves!
Falling into the idiophone family of instruments, the Jumbie Jam is named after the Jumbie, a mischievous spirit in Trinidadian folklore. The Jumbie Jams vibrant colours are sure to awaken every player’s impish creativity.
