O’Carolan – 21 Arrangements for Harp

£15.00

This book has 21 arrangements of O’Carolan’s finest tunes. For each tune there is a simpler version, a more challenging version and a countermelody, making it ideal for playing with friends of differing experience.

The blind harper Turlough O’ Carolan was born in County Meath, Ireland, in 1670. He is considered Ireland’s most famous composer. He became blind after contracting smallpox at the age of 18. As a result of this he took up the harp and at the age of 21, with a guide and a horse, he set out to travel Ireland, composing songs for patrons as he travelled. He died in 1738.
